Poker is a popular gambling game. It is played with a standard pack of 52 cards, ranked from Ace to Ace. The game uses chips, usually of white, red or green color.<\/p>\n
When the game begins, players buy a number of chips that corresponds to the amount of money in the pot. This is called the ante. The ante gives the pot a value right away.<\/p>\n
The first round of betting occurs in a clockwise rotation. The first two players in the pot make their bets. After this round, the remaining two dealers are left to bet.<\/p>\n
If there are any ties, the high card breaks them. A tiebreaker card is the kicker, which is the highest-ranking card in the deck in any hand.<\/p>\n
When the player who wants to stay in the game checks, he loses all of his chips in the pot. However, he may call and raise the bet if another player raises.<\/p>\n
Players can fold or raise their bet, but they must have a better hand. For example, if Charley had a pair of kings off the deal, he probably was trying to hit a flush or straight.<\/p>\n
The player who has the best hand after the first few rounds of betting is the one who wins the pot. Depending on the game, this can be the trip sevens or the backdoor flush.<\/p>\n
